๐Ÿ“ We're still gathering the family's story โ€” all weekend long! Add yourself and your people: parents, spouse, kids, siblings, hometowns, photos, memories. Every detail you add helps the elders stitch the whole tree together ๐Ÿ’›

Family on the tree who shared their contact are in the ๐Ÿ“’ directory on the Family tab.

NOLA ONE Shuttle Service โ€” Jamie has them on call for the family. Only 2 vans, so schedule ahead! Their 6-passenger taxi-van does airport pickups, regular rides, and guided tours.

๐ŸŽท Sunday Jazz Cruise: two 6-passenger golf carts will carry anyone who can't walk to the steamboat dock โ€” $5/person each way for family. Jamie will share the pickup spot.

Also plenty of taxis, the streetcar/trolley, and Ubers.

Congo Square (Louis Armstrong Park, a 20-min walk) is sacred ground โ€” under French rule it was the one place enslaved Africans could gather on Sundays to drum, dance, and trade. The rhythms kept alive there became jazz. Tremรฉ, just beyond it, is one of the oldest Black neighborhoods in America.

Catch a second line if one passes โ€” brass band first, everybody else dancing behind. Joining in is the point.

โ˜€๏ธ August real talk: mid-90s and humid. Water bottle, hat, sunscreen โ€” and do like locals: mornings & evenings outside, AC + cafรฉ stops midday.

A private space for Area Coordinators and admins โ€” meeting minutes, the coordinator directory, and the full member roster, all in one secure place.

๐ŸŽŸ What's the family code?

It's pinned in the GroupMe and on the welcome table. You enter it once and your phone remembers โ€” it's what keeps this space family-only.

๐ŸŒณ How do I add myself?

Family tab โ†’ "๏ผ‹ Add me." Only your name is required โ€” naming your parent drops you right under them in the tree. Add your spouse, siblings, and kids too; each becomes a profile they can claim later.

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿพ What does "claiming" a profile mean?

It makes a profile yours โ€” after that, only you can edit it. Prove it's you with Google sign-in, or make up a 4-digit PIN if you don't have Google. Greyed-out names are waiting to be claimed by that person.

๐Ÿ”‘ I forgot my PIN!

No stress โ€” ask a historian (Contacts above) to reset your profile, then claim it again with a fresh PIN.

๐Ÿ“ž Who can see my phone number?

Nobody, unless you turn on "Share my contact" โ€” then it shows in the ๐Ÿ“’ Family directory for family. You can switch it off anytime. The organizers can always reach you either way.

โœ๏ธ Something's wrong on a relative's profile?

Open their card and tap ๐Ÿ’ก Suggest a fix โ€” it goes to the family historians, who review and update it. Only the person themself (or a historian) can edit a profile directly.

โœ“ What's the green check?

The family historians verified that person and their connections. โณ "Family, is this right?" means it's still waiting on their review.

๐Ÿ“ธ How does the photo wall work?

Post photos and updates on the Photos tab โ€” they show after a quick family review. Your profile selfie is separate and shows right away.

Recently married? Had a child? Add or correct a family member โ€” please provide as much detail as possible.

๐Ÿ“– Knowing Our History

Grahams united, with Tisby on top ยท verified against real records

Tisby Graham is the one who binds us all โ€” mother of Stephany, Tishia, Benjamin Augustus, Katie and Rebecca. From generation to generation, we remain beautifully connected through her.

Stephany George Graham was born enslaved on May 25, 1846, in Lake City, SC, on the plantation of Nelson Myers Graham. Though it was against the law to teach the enslaved, a minister was granted permission to teach Stephany; he was 18 when the enslaved were freed, and later passed his teacher's certification. He married Caroline Elizabeth Eaddy in December 1878; together they had 10 children. A senior deacon, store owner, and farmer, Stephany transitioned July 24, 1920. We are Forever Grahams.

โœ… Verified by public records

Nelson Myers Graham appears in the 1860 slave schedule ("N. M. Graham, 61 slaves," Williamsburg Co). Stephany's exact birth & death dates are confirmed on FamilySearch (profile GS22-WL2) with 1910 census + SC death records. Lake City was originally named "Graham's Crossroads." Caroline's father Sampson Eaddy (1835โ€“1916) is documented in a formerly-enslaved cemetery.

โš ๏ธ One to confirm: the well-documented Lake City "St. James" is A.M.E. (Methodist), not Baptist โ€” the family may want to verify.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ In Loving Memory
